Fanaa dekhne ke liye Manaa..

Saw Fanaa today, Hmmm...I'd give it ** at the most. And the two stars too are just because of the second half. The first half is a complete 'cut-paste' from all the rosy movies you have seen. It is so rosy that it's just too freaking artificial. So sad Kunal Kohli can't even copy properly. The second half is what the movie was actually made for. The first half it seems was made just for the sake of making it. It is very evident absolutely no thinking has gone into it....except maybe where to copy it from. Aamir is his usual competent self. Kajol is ok. Direction is nothing more than less than ordinary. The story reminds you of many movies till the end. The songs suck except chaand sifaarish which is hummable atleast. The choreography in the songs leaves a hell lot to be desired. Tabu is wasted but even in that she is ordinary. The Cinematography is one thing that is good.If there's one thing that actually leaves you wanting for more is the breathtaking scenic be...

This (Sad) Side Of The Story.

And the injustice of the media continues unabated. I am absolutely saddened and frustrated by the biased stand of the media. It's so shameful that we can't expect to get the most basic of rights- the right to information due to the selfish motives of the Indian media. I am sure every one of you staying in India must have been bombarded by images and information about the anti reservation protests going on in the country. But sadly, that's just half the truth prepared and served in front of you with added spices. There's no doubt that there are anti reservation protests going on all over the country, but what is also true is that there are also pro reservations happening all over. Sadly, no one has any clue about those. Do you really think people who get to benefit from the law and the provisions are not bothered at all? The injustice happening is obvious. We pride ourselves in having a powerful and free media but the one sided coverage by them makes me wanna hang my hea...

The Big Indian Reservation Debate?

Seems so powerful, doesn't it? Wish the show was too… Had been to the sets of this program yesterday. Yes guys I am gonna be on T.V.! So sad you won't be able to recognize me….hehehe. A whole bunch of guys from both sides reached the spot in view of a greater platform to debate this issue than our college 'katta' with so much preparation and plans as to who was supposed to speak what…Alas all down the drain. First of all it started a good 2 hrs late that made us perspire our weight away. It really was very hot. Then finally when the preparations were all done we were called. As we moved towards the set we were stopped and told that only 10 people will be allowed to enter. We let 10 of us enter. But then we looked at the other team already sitting there and they had almost filled up the whole space. This was clearly unfair. As we tried to enter, the security guards stopped us. Some of us tried to tell the producer about the difference in numbers from both sides but w...

Back in the dumps...

Ok guys reader discretion advised, some things written maybe disturbing. Today I had those moments when I feel sad that I am alive. I hate my life. Am back into a very rough patch. My rough patches may not seem too bad from the outside, but it's quite bad for me. It's coz of my mind. I am incapable of bearing any kind of sorrow or pain. But still this mind invites all this inside, like it's done right now. I look at my life and I see nothing. I see me standing nowhere. If I had to paint something that depicted my life, I would draw a boy standing alone on a barren land with nothing in sight till the horizon. Every glimmer of light comes down as a ball of fire burning me. Let me start with this. I have NO friends. I don't have a clue what am I gonna do with my life. There are things that I can't forget and the more I remember, the more painful they are. My past not only haunts me, it freaking tortures me. I am surrounded by selfishness, back stabbing and deceit. I am...

Today is the day before my birthday

Tomorrow is my birthday. I know I should have started the post with a yippee or a hurray... but I just don't feel like it. I am not at all excited about tomorrow as I should be perhaps. I don't even know what am I gonna do tomorrow. May be what I do everyday.... just slouch around the house during the day and then go to the gym in the evening. I don't remember ever actually being too excited about my birthday. I've never really celebrated my birthday too. Part of the reason being that most of my friends would go to their native place for their school vacations. But somehow I just don't feel there's anything special in this day. So what if I was born this day? That's done and over with. I don't have any happy memories about that day, no wait.......ok right I don't. So what would make celebrate it. I don't know. I've never ever been too excited about any presents too. I get stuff all through the year from my parents. And nobody else actually gi...

Quotes frm a brken heart...

These are some quotes that I have collected. Some of these really touch my heart. If you have felt the agony of heart break before, you'll feel what I did while reading this.:-( I hate the way ur always right, I hate the way you lie, I hate the way you make me laugh, even worse the way you made me cry. I hate it when your not around, I hate it that you didn't call. But most of all I hate the fact I don't hate you at all. I can't talk to you anymore, not because I'm mad at you, but because when I talk to you I realize how much I love you, and when I think of how much I love you I realize I can't have you and that makes me love you even more. I cant explain to you how much I love you, but can you explain to me why you don’t love me at all?? I ran up the door, closed the stairs, said my pajamas, and put on my prayers. Turned off the bed, and hopped into the light, all because you kissed me good night. Missing you isn’t the hard part, knowing I once had you is w...

My journey so far...

My first tryst with blogging happened at a friend's place. I had been there when I saw a wonderful poem that she had downloaded from a blog at rediff. I was mighty impressed by this new thing I'd learned about, where people can present their innermost thoughts and stuff to the whole wide world. It was an interesting idea. I thought of checking it out. Signed up myself at rediff and blogger. Wrote my first post there and started checking out other posts. The biggest thing that glued me to blogging was the 8 or so comments I got for my first post in rediff. Blogger being as large as it is, it would have been great if a few even had visited my page. It's a damn good feeling when you get comments on your blog. It really is! It still is!! It makes you feel what you are writing is not entirely stupid or if it is, you are not alone. Makes you feel that you belong. It's like going to a party where you don't see anyone familiar and then someone says hi. Yeah…that kinda comes...

Faith..

Faith is very important. No matter how intelligent we become, no matter how technologically advanced we become, it'll still have a place in society. People are like babies. You keep them in a safe secure room alone and they will start crying take them out in a car or something holding their hand they won't mind if narrowly miss another car. The same way people are scared of the reality. They are scared of the truth that no one knows where we are (in terms of the universe), No one knows how we came here, No one knows why we die, or what happens when we do. It's not the thought of something that is harmful that scares them; it's just the thought of the unknown. This leads to faith. Faith is right but not blind faith. Once you start believing even having faith that cannot even be logically explained I think you have no right having a mind of your own. If you can't think or analyze, what good is your brain. I remember hearing this once. If you keep an object in the path...

Religious philosophy.

Image
You are a Self-Discoverer You're not religious, but you've created your own kind of spirituality.Introspective and thoughtful, you tend to look inward for the divine. You are distrusting of all forms of organized religion. You especially dislike religious gurus and leaders, who you feel are charlatans. What's" Your Religious Philosophy?
It was one of those days when you are not quite sure whether to be happy or sad. I choose to be glad. Went to the library to study (thought may be that could help), but the dance group got together once again and we sat talking as usual. Then had a chat with another friend about the difficult situations we were going through. The problem is that we are too hung up on fun. The day of our dance performance was a sad day in a way coz that meant it was the last day of our practice. In spite of all the troubles we went through during practice, we were still gonna miss it. And we did. My friend and I were really sad inside on the last day because the dance practice that we criticized so much was coming to an end. The last day was just too much fun as I have already written . Then there was the trip to Kihim beach which too was absolute fun. We are still so hung up on all of these that although it's time now to get back to serious studying, this heart wants more. My mind is just...

Your religion decides whether you are killed or not.

It seems if you stay in Gujarat, all you have to do is just collect a lot of weapons and keep in mind as many people of the opposite religion you can. There's almost a free for all every year. These thing really make me feel ashamed to be an Indian.Sometimes even to be a human. Peace is no longer a sign of tolerance and unity among religions. It's just a ticking time bomb. And wherever you live in India, it can and may happen in your neighbourhood sometime or the other. Although perhaps the state may not be as supportive to one side as in Gujarat. Some of the incidents are too painful and scary to even hear let alone witness. This blind and fanatical belief in religion is gonna destroy India. The perpetrators are not only going scot free, they are national leaders. However much India should be proud of it's culture and traditions, this type of behaviour is just unacceptable. When will these people realise that we are living in a country that is multi cultural and many religi...

My opinion..

Recently there has been a huge hue & cry about the reservation issue here in India. I think I think it is time I break my silence and add a few points. Now my comments may, as they say, put the cat among the pigeons, but I ask everyone not to take this personally and please no abuses. I must make it clear that this is not about the recent hike. I am not qualified to talk if the premier institutions or the post graduation seats should've reservations. All I am gonna speak about is the whole issue of reservations in general. It is my humble opinion and I request everyone to consider it the same. The whole issue of reservations was started to uplift India as a whole instead of the just a section of society as had been happening for a long time. I must also add it is not sympathy or charity. It is just a way of giving an 'equal' opportunity to all. Although people here think the only thing where casteism exists is the reservations but that is absolutely untrue. The number ...
