Fights. Anger. Hatred. Common words. Common occurrences. Inevitable........or are they? I don't think so. I am not a saint. But I think I can avoid getting all angry most of the times. Ok. I rant. One of the things I am seeing more and more nowadays....the planned friendship. I was never a believer of the planned friendship but now as I see it, it has a huge following. I see it everywhere. I know you all must be like, 'What is this planned friendhip?' Well, it is a 'friendship' that is made intentionally by someone with someone for a motive'. It may also be loosely called networking and in a professionaly setup may actually be a thing to be lauded. But I, luckily or unluckily, do not like it at all, rather I despise it. I was going through a rough patch lately. And so I decided I am gonna start watching movies at home. Alone.Also, was pretty frustrated today. Was feeling very bad. Wanted something to take my mind off. So I went out and got 'Crash'. It's an awesome movie.It deserves all the praise it got. But this post isn't about the movie. This is about an incident that happened yesterday. It reiterated what already knew and don like it one bit. A dancer who hardly attends the dance practice and isn't even good got angry and behaved in such an aggressive way that it shocked me and all I wanted to do was kick him out of the dance group. It happened coz his partner who was preset for the dance practice all the while said she won't dance with him as she was frustrated about sitting there alone as others practiced with partners. This guy has ditched us so many times and gone to play without caring one bit of how bad he is dancing. So we were with this girl trying to convince her to dance and she was arguing about how she missed lectures for the dance and had to sit alone. And this guy got angry and threw an iron rod, went out slamming the door open in a vulgar show of anger. And this when all of us including the choreographers were present. I know my posts have become very irregular but believe me it’s not as though I’ve not tried. So many things have come into my mind that I wanted to post about but just haven’t been able to write anything. Read an article in the T.O.I written by an American tourist about her experiences in Mumbai's discotheques. It was so utterly disgusting to read this truth about our country. It really is. She says although she had experienced much more sexually colored pick up lines in the U.S., she was not at all expecting the kind of behavior that was shown in our country. There was groping and pinching and touching going on in every discotheque that she visited. Guys just took it as a free for all kind of an opportunity. This is addressed to all those who claim to be the fighting for equality in India. A Dalit in a village in Rajasthan was happy and excited as he was getting married that day. His family too was excited. They thought having the groom on a horse would be more fun, in a traditional sort of way. The news reached the upper caste people of the village. They reached the place in numbers and forcefully made the groom climb down from the horse. This was as supposedly lower castes didn't have the right to climb a horse for marriage. The groom and his family were threatened against approaching the police. They still did. The police filed a complaint according to the Scheduled castes and tribes Act. This led to a boycott of the community by everyone else in the village. They are not allowed to have anything from the shops. They are not allowed to have water from the 4 tankers in the village. The media has gone bonkers it seems. There are so hungry for something sensational and so busy sensationalizing every piece of crap they have got their hands on that the news gets lost in between. I know we have all heard discussing is the best way to solve mutual differences. All differences can be sorted out by dialogue. I think it's a farce. It's just a way devised to avoid people from resorting to violence. It can't actually solve anything. Here's an example: Person A: I think this is the right thing. And the injustice of the media continues unabated. I am absolutely saddened and frustrated by the biased stand of the media. It's so shameful that we can't expect to get the most basic of rights- the right to information due to the selfish motives of the Indian media. I am sure every one of you staying in India must have been bombarded by images and information about the anti reservation protests going on in the country. But sadly, that's just half the truth prepared and served in front of you with added spices. There's no doubt that there are anti reservation protests going on all over the country, but what is also true is that there are also pro reservations happening all over. Faith is very important. No matter how intelligent we become, no matter how technologically advanced we become, it'll still have a place in society. People are like babies. You keep them in a safe secure room alone and they will start crying take them out in a car or something holding their hand they won't mind if narrowly miss another car. The same way people are scared of the reality. They are scared of the truth that no one knows where we are (in terms of the universe), No one knows how we came here, No one knows why we die, or what happens when we do. It seems if you stay in Gujarat, all you have to do is just collect a lot of weapons and keep in mind as many people of the opposite religion you can. There's almost a free for all every year. Recently there has been a huge hue & cry about the reservation issue here in India. I think I think it is time I break my silence and add a few points. Now my comments may, as they say, put the cat among the pigeons, but I ask everyone not to take this personally and please no abuses. I must make it clear that this is not about the recent hike. I am not qualified to talk if the premier institutions or the post graduation seats should've reservations. All I am gonna speak about is the whole issue of reservations in general. It is my humble opinion and I request everyone to consider it the same.
