Night of Extremes

Yes...After a long time, something has happened in my life worth writing bout....well atleast I think so. It was yesterday night. A friend had called up telling me there's a salsa night at a sports bar and our friends from our salsa class were coming. After a bit of deliberation, I decided to go and then minutes before the event was gonna star, one after another people started apologising for not being able to make it. Still two my friends were gonna be there so I went for a first of it's kind event for me.. On reaching, there was a whole bunch of people dancing and another big buch watching them. I quietly joined the ones watching. Now some background details...I have just done the level 1 of salsa and although I was adjudged the best dancer in the class, I just knew a limited number of steps and was out of touch. So that was on back of my mind seeing people doing complicated steps with ease however bad looking they may be. A friend of mine from the class and with whom I h...

My first Tag!!!

Well, I've been tagged to write about what would I do if I could go back.Hmmm...I've always wondered and may be even gone back in time in my thoughts, but now when I am supposed to write it, I am lost! But I'll try, it's my first tag after all.I've always had this habit of revisiting and reliving all the good times I go through. It helps me fight out the sad parts. Genious did you say? One of the most visited times are the day when I won the cricket match for our team in first year against the third year single handedly. Wow....I was the opener and stayed on till the end. We needed 12 runs in 2 overs and their best bowler came on to bowl. I lofted the first delivery from good length to mid on and it went for four. The next delivery again just wide of mid on, another four. The pressure was completely relieved.I remember my friends lifting me up on their shoulders after the game. And all this when we were freshers...this meant a lot!! Recently I played a knock like th...

Man, what an experience!!!! I positively have never had such an experience and never hope to have one in the future. Ok so I was sitting in the bus, an empty bus, talking on my cell phone. At the next stop, few people got into the bus. A guy, about my age came and sat next to me. Keep in mind, the bus was completely VACANT. I kept talking on the phone hardly noticing him. I had my face down being very engrossed in the conversation. Then I notice from the corner of my eye that this guy is leaning forward to look at my face. I turned to him and raised my eyebrows as if to ask, 'What's ur problem?' He kinda smiles and raises his eyebrows as if to say, 'Hi'. I continue talking on the phone. Then, the conductor comes and I purchase a ticket. While taking back the change, I accidentally drop a coin. As I was kinda busy talking on the phone, I didn't see where it went. So after keeping the rest of the change in my pocket, I proceed to look for the coin. I looked a...

Hmmm…just visited a few blogs….stupid to be doing that so close to the exams? You bet it is….but then that's how I am. I really can't understand it when see stuff like 'Among the top 100 blogs' or 'top 10 blogs from India' or even when I see huge number of comments on these blogs…Hmm…Is this jealousy? Well…kinda. But then, isn't it understandable considering the huge number of comments that I get? I am hugely thankful to the people who do comment on my blog though…All 2-3 of you. My blog has gone such a huge transformation in the past few months, earlier when for 5-6 months I had absolutely no comments except for one for my first post (must admit, was very happy on seeing that) which turned out an ad for advertising. I felt like a cast away waiting for someone to be seen on the horizon. The first comment can be likened to a mirage. Then after a few posts I gave up hope of seeing anyone on the horizon. That was when I gave up all inhibitions and ran around my...

:-D

After chatting online and stuff, I was very keen on traveling the world and getting to visit some of the most beautiful places in the world some day. In this excitement, I asked a friend of mine where she would like to go if given a chance. And guess what reply was…… "But you didn't tell me for what reason, for studies or working or what?" Now that's a typical medical student.

My journey so far...

My first tryst with blogging happened at a friend's place. I had been there when I saw a wonderful poem that she had downloaded from a blog at rediff. I was mighty impressed by this new thing I'd learned about, where people can present their innermost thoughts and stuff to the whole wide world. It was an interesting idea. I thought of checking it out. Signed up myself at rediff and blogger. Wrote my first post there and started checking out other posts. The biggest thing that glued me to blogging was the 8 or so comments I got for my first post in rediff. Blogger being as large as it is, it would have been great if a few even had visited my page. It's a damn good feeling when you get comments on your blog. It really is! It still is!! It makes you feel what you are writing is not entirely stupid or if it is, you are not alone. Makes you feel that you belong. It's like going to a party where you don't see anyone familiar and then someone says hi. Yeah…that kinda comes...
It was one of those days when you are not quite sure whether to be happy or sad. I choose to be glad. Went to the library to study (thought may be that could help), but the dance group got together once again and we sat talking as usual. Then had a chat with another friend about the difficult situations we were going through. The problem is that we are too hung up on fun. The day of our dance performance was a sad day in a way coz that meant it was the last day of our practice. In spite of all the troubles we went through during practice, we were still gonna miss it. And we did. My friend and I were really sad inside on the last day because the dance practice that we criticized so much was coming to an end. The last day was just too much fun as I have already written . Then there was the trip to Kihim beach which too was absolute fun. We are still so hung up on all of these that although it's time now to get back to serious studying, this heart wants more. My mind is just...

Back to Reality

I m finally back. Oh! What a trip. It really was a welcome change. I've learnt that it's the change that's important even if it is a bit worse in terms of luxuries. Even though there were a lot of problems out there I was out of the monotony of life and got to live a different life for a while. A life with no worries, except maybe for the scarcity of drinking water. The thing that hit me while I was there is the fact that I am incapable of talking to people that I've just met. It's not difficult. It's impossible. My mouth just sews itself up. No matter how hard I try to speak I just can't. Many people may think of my silence as arrogance. It's not…. really. I just can't talk. I don't know what to say. I just go blank. There's nothing I can do but at the most nod my head to what the other person is saying. Sad isn't it. Poor me. But I've decided I am not gonna feel bad about it. If I am like this, I am like this. Now it's ever...

Grey's anatomy.

Just watched the first episode of Grey's anatomy and had a strange feeling of déjà vu. I don't how to explain. This world …this world of medicine…the world I try to keep myself out of when I am out of the hospital…maybe it's because of a comment a friend of mine had passed. He had said that once we get in med-school we are separated from the normal world, we don't know what happens outside; all we can know or talk about is medicine. Honestly, didn't like it. Don't wanna be someone who doesn't know anything apart from what he does. That's why this subconscious attempt at being a regular guy at the cost of loving your own field I suppose. And I know it's not right… Ok so we were talking about Grey's anatomy, it brought back those bitter sweet memories you attach with med-school. That cut -throat competition, those moments of blankness when a senior asks a question, those moments of blankness when you have to apply your bookish knowledge to a h...
A strange thing happened today. I went to take measurements and surprise of surprises 'everything's reduced' (oh..c'mon..think straight.) For those who don't know I'd started working out for weight gain.I mean i am not skinny, u can say athletic so just wanted to build up some muscle. As far as my mirror goes there's definitely improvement but don't know how come my arms, chest, weight..and even height has apparently reduced(well..the last one could be an error). Frankly it doesn't feel so good after working so hard to not see the results but I'll believe my mirror. Even my trainer doesn't know what's happened. Our theory is that may be it must've been the small amount fat that has gone. But i've to say, I'm looking great!! I am posting this old poem I found. I don't know if u realise how special u make me feel, when u give me that look, those words, that smile. Don't know if u know how much it hurts, when u have to go,...

What a day!

Oh what a day! Today was my dance competition, the final day the end of my torture as it seemed. We had been so frustrated, so angry, so damn fed up of this that most of us were thinking of not dancing at all. And this was two days before. We had taken a risk of getting a new choreographer who none of us liked, especially me. Not only did the dance steps seem not so great she didn't seem serious about it at all. She just came showed us some steps and expected us to do them. Never did she point out mistakes of everyone. Nor did she tell us exactly what beats will have what steps. On top of that none of the dancers seemed serious. Everyone came, but most never tried to be good by themselves. They would just do it somehow and end it spending most of the time chitchatting. O.k. It's getting too long. Fast forward. Two days to the dance and we are so bad that we still can't complete one song sequence without missing a step. We also don't have a C.D. yet of all the songs toge...
