Faith..
Faith is very important.
No matter how intelligent we become, no matter how technologically advanced we become, it'll still have a place in society.
People are like babies. You keep them in a safe secure room alone and they will start crying take them out in a car or something holding their hand they won't mind if narrowly miss another car. The same way people are scared of the reality. They are scared of the truth that no one knows where we are (in terms of the universe), No one knows how we came here, No one knows why we die, or what happens when we do. It's not the thought of something that is harmful that scares them; it's just the thought of the unknown.
This leads to faith.
Faith is right but not blind faith.
Once you start believing even having faith that cannot even be logically explained I think you have no right having a mind of your own. If you can't think or analyze, what good is your brain.
I remember hearing this once. If you keep an object in the path of a row of sheep in the beginning and then you remove the rest of the sheep will jump at that spot just because the earlier one jumped.
Sadly, that is what is happening in humans, and not only in people who were ignorant and uneducated but even the most educated and learned people endorse such beliefs. Don't think it's really faith all the time, a little bit of showing off doesn't harm you. But the fact is that such an attitude is leading a bunch of blind believers who can destroy the society, the country that we live in. The mistakes our ancestors did are being repeated by the youth, without thinking one bit, in the name of faith.
I accept and acknowledge the importance of traditions and customs but a little bit of thought won't do any harm. There are many customs which are, by and large, looked down upon (E.g. sati, child marriage etc) but there still are many more existing in this society. Who decides who is right or wrong? If everyone just believes blindly, how can anyone say they are right and others are wrong? Everybody has their interpretations of God. Whose is right?
What makes us call a mentally challenged person delusional? He has his own beliefs…

I know it's a complex subject, i myself got confused while writing it. I think you can make that out, but I still chose to keep it.

Very well said... I agree when you say faith is ok but not blind faith. But you do realise that most the of the realities of life are based on blind faith.
Fear of the unknown... Oh boy! Tell me about it... it's like scary really... if you just sit one day and think about what'll happen if you die right then... it'll scare you shitless! (sorry)

Well, everything has an extreme side and everyone posses the capacity to see the right from wrong. It just takes a little longer for some to figure out...
